Het personeel is vriendelijk en het ontbijt is prima. Het uitzicht aan de zijkant waar mijn kamer zat is waardeloos maar dat nemen we maar op de koop toe.
Het hotel is gedateerd. Overal ligt vloerbedekking die gezien de vlekken aan vervanging toe is. Op de kamer kan beter laminaat of pvc liggen.

Uitgebreid en goed ontbijtbuffet. Schone kamer
Typisch hotel voor zakelijke reizigers daardoor niet 'gezellig'. Raam kon niet open daardoor moest airco aan (vind ik onaangenaam)

Personeel bij het ontbijt zag er niet fris uit, liep maar te zuchten en had het idee dat ze ons snel weg wilden hebben, we kwamen om 10.15 uur bij het ontbijt, het ontbijt is tot 11 uur maar kreeg het idee dat het personeel ons te laat vond verschijnen.

Relativ zentral gelegen.Zu Fuß 10 Minuten bis zur Bushaltestelle in die City.Zur Zeit leider eine große Baustelle rund ums Hotel.
Relativ teures Essen im Hotel eigenen Restaurant.Leider nur zwei Gerichte am Abend zur Auswahl.
Bei Konzerten in der Martini Plaza ist es nach Mitternacht noch sehr laut wenn man zu der Seite sein Zimmer raus hat.

De 1-persoonskamer was subliem.
Achteraf gesnopen = de halve prijs
Ik had in de late avond ingecheckt, de kamer was op de 3e etage maar je komt er via de 1e etage. Dat word je niet verteld maar mag je op zo'n late avond zelf uitzoeken, kwam ik achter nadat ik eerst de 3e etage had doorlopen en ik eenmaal terug in de lift de kamernummer opzocht naast de buttons in de lift. Eenmaal in de juiste vleugel was het nog 2 etages hoger met mn bagage. Kamer gevonden maar als ik de deur wilde openen met de keycard gaf deze rood aan. Dus die hele route maar weer teruggelopen. Met mn bagage. Een gast als ik had toch maar een rit van 2,5 uur van de randstad naar Groningen en een (kerk)dienst van 2 uren achter de rug. Receptionist liep vervolgens met me mee om de kamer te openen en een 'valid' keycard werd later gebracht. Als ik aangaf dat dit niet prettig was zegt hij: snap ik.
De irritatie had voorkomen kunnen worden als tevoren even maar was gecheckt of de keycard het wel deed.

Everything was perfectly clean, cleaning ladies and personnel at the restaurant were very kind
No entertainment, say music or something to have a nice and fun time. Surroundings also, looked a little messy with trailers everywhere, no nice perspective of the surrounding area.

Nice, airy room - very comfortable bed
There are road works in the immediate vicinty of the hotel (June 2023) and the environment was therefore a bit noisy. Location feels better suited for people traveling by car than on foot, the walk from the station is not far but not very ‘interesting’…

I had no credit cards as they had been stolen and I explained this to the hotel and said I could pay using my mobile app this they would not allow. I then said my wife could pay giving her credit details over the phone this they refused. I then asked if I could bank transfer this they would not allow.
I explained that I had no bed for the night and they didnt care this is despite me having a reservation.

This was the most disturbing and non-relaxing hotel stay experience ever. For one they do not value the guest privacy: they do provide a no-room service sign to hang up on the door but happily walk inside despite a do not disturb no-service sign being hung outside and do not apologise. Next, the door locks inside your room is just for a deceiving purpose to give you a false feeling of being safe, as they can just walk inside even if you have “bolted” it from inside. They just walk in on you, showering, dressing, relaxing on the bed or even sleeping and best part: they do not retreat or apologise! How polite, right? The reason was they want to put the no-room service card inside the room!!!!! HOW SENSIBLE IS THIS? The room service is provided by an external source and consists of both men and women, they do not care about the guests and just walk in without any apologies and even do what they want! When you bring this to the front desk, they offer generous amounts of false promises. The manager is conveniently either not in house or won´t ever contact you. I should say I decided to have a holiday during Easter in a relaxed manner, and this just ruined it as I couldn´t sleep nor feel safe, as they could just walk in and do anything! There is a locker in the room and who knows this could be a toy they can open too. I faced this horror and wanted to bring this to the manage, the receptionist promised that the manager Mrs. Petra Hoekstra would definitely get in touch with me, but it´s now been two weeks and I got nothing but the hotel Mercure Groningen wants me to give a rating and Booking.com wants to know about my stay. So here it is: The worst and most unsafe place to stay in Groningen: Mercure hotel Martini Plaza Groningen and I am shocked that such a place still holds its position as a 4-star hotel and is available to book on the esteemed booking.com website.

Staff pleasant. Booked one night as on my way to further travel. Arrived late at 22:10 and there is a 24 hr check in.
Single rooms available. Cleanliness as always as per Mercure standards.
Expensive car park 10.50 per night.
No foor or bar available after 22:00.

location near the center, warm in the room, no bad smells, the staff at the reception was very polite, but housekeeping does its job poorly, namely, the first impression and subsequently the review depend on their work
the bed constantly moves back, you had to get up and move it back, there are no disposable slippers, there are no garbage bags in the trash cans, there is no door in the shower room, when you pay 100 euros per day you expect at least such basic things

The attention from the receptionist was great.
We paid over 200 eur for 1 night. my guess is because there were some events in the city on the same days. it does not worth the price, but it was the cheapest we could find.
