Oyster Bay Lodge

Nach einer ca. 20 Kilometer geschotterten Piste erreicht man ein traumhaftes Fleckchen Erde an Ende der Welt. So einen herzlichen Empfang von Debbie habe ich selten irgendwo erlebt. Wir haben den Ausritt mit den Pferden in den Dünen und am Stand sehr genossen - ein tolles Erlebnis. Alles in allem ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt.

We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was very good.

The suite had no air conditioning. If you leave the windows open at night, the flies come in. I asked for a portable fan and that did the trick but for the cost, air conditioning should be standard. Also we chose Oyster Bay Lodge to overnight on our way East from Knysna. This is not a good choice for a pit stop since there is 1 hour of very rocky dirt road to get to the lodge. You can only drive at 20mph max in a hire car over this terrain and I was very nervous we would get a flat tyre and break down in the middle of nowhere. This is a good choice if you have a 4 wheel drive car and if you are going there for the outdoor activities. It isn't a good overnight stop point.

The property is far away from all the noise making it a perfect get away location if you looking for some peace and quiet. I love the style of the property and its close proximity to the beach and sand dunes. It is a very well maintained property. I love the pool and restaurant area. My favourite has to be the lighting of the walk way during the night on the way to our room absolutely beautiful

Everything was honestly perfect.

We initially was given a very very very poor room with no privacy and small. We requested to be moved and the second room was much better. The photos on Bookings.com is not recent photos and should be updated as so many other places, requires maintenance. On the website of Bookings.com it doesn't mention that the ocean is more than 1km away from the lodge and that we couldn't swim at this spot and had to travel by car more than 4km for a swim in the ocean.

The initial room was totally unacceptable. We have find that the website of Bookings.com in certain instances not always truthful with the accommodation that they advertise and thus not always reliable.
