Whalesong Lodge

Massive room with large shower and patio furniture on the balcony. Slept with my windows open listening to whales on the bay and waking up to the sound of the ocean and whales. Electric blanket and fan available. Binoculars for whale watching from the balcony and Peaceful sleep in the for those mozzies. Solar chargeable lights in the room and garden. Gorgeous decor throughout the property and Milkwood Lodge where I stayed was a private property tucked away at the back that has 2rooms with sea views upstairs, separate lounge, TV lounge, dining and kitchen as well as a fully stocked fireplace and honest bar. I loved the plants everywhere and would like a few in the room and on the balcony (as a plant lover).Tons of plugs with two pin and round 2 pin adapters built in for charging devices everywhere in the room. So no need to carry adapters. A throw is provided for chilly breezes on the balcony and you are going to spend a lot of time there just taking in the sounds and sights of the bay. Generous and delicious breakfast. Close proximity to cliff path and Klipgat Caves. Walking distance to an excellent restaurant. On site parking. 5 mins from Gansbaai that has shops where you can get all you need or missed whilst packing. And if you’d like to do a boat tour. Honestly I could have just sat on the cliff path for hours watching the whales and spent half the time doing exactly that. The breakfast area and balcony has a 180 degree unspoiled ocean view. I could really go on but to sum it up, this property together with hospitality from the staff and Antje were second to none!

Vom Anfang bis Ende unseres Aufenthaltes war alles perfekt. Unglaublich netter Empfang durch Antje, dass man sich gleich zuhause gefühlt hat. Ein Traum die morgendlichen Walsichtungen, das liebevoll zubereitete Frühstück und die guten Gespräche. Jeder Wunsch wurde auch noch am späten Abend erfüllt. Vielen Dank an Antje & Team für die tolle Zeit! Macht weiter so!

Lovely Boutique Hotel with a lot of attention to detail that immediatley made us feel home. Great location overlooking the bay with Whales playing in front of the breakfast table. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast made with love!
