Viru Backpackers Hostel

Great location and very friendly & helpful receptionist :) would recommend

Little to criticise

- Good price for location and room. - Double bedroom is pretty good and even has a couple seats and coffe table. - Good wifi. - Cleaner than most hostels, although not spotless.

- Can't do laundry on my own. - Noisy - Not so great to meet people. The double bedrooms are on a separate floor as the common areas. - Curtains don't hide much of daylight

The hostel is located very close to the gates of the old Town and is perfect if you want to experience the old Town without the struggle of dragging your suitcase (for a long time) over cobbled pave stones. Very easy to access tram no 4 going direct to the airport and bus stop is also equally close . Lots of good options to eat around the hotel . The room is very clean and large &spacious, well maintained. They had left 2 toffees on the bed when I arrived,which is such a cute touch!The bathroom is big and clean with a separate shower cubicle. The common kitchen area was well stocked with a kettle,coffee machine,coffee, tea, creamer sugar and even milk (normal and oat milk) in addition to a microwave . What I really like about them is that they don't allow smoking and drinking on the premises and have strict quiet hours during the night. There is a lift (albeit an old one) so one doesn't have to haul up their luggage. The staff knows English ,is very responsive and kind. Stayed for one night, but will definitely be booking this the next time I visit given that the cost is much lower than other comparable guest houses Loved it 🥰

The name of Viru backpackers could be more prominently displayed at the entrance, so that it's easier to spot

Location was perfect

Woke up each morning and my nose was running badly. AI said it was probably due to allergies from feces of dust mites. So they probably need to improve laundry standards and temperatures.
