Hotel Piran

Receptionists were very helpful and they fixed our problem. Breakfast was extraordary with leafy tea and beautiful sight, right next to the sea. Their Negroni in the bar was fine too.

First we got rooms in the old part of the hotel and those rooms were terrible.

Hotel is perhaps a little dated but this didn't concern us. Some noise from sunbeds outside the room but again didn't really disturb us.

The location is excellent, with convenient access to the waterfront. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh options to choose from.

The lifts were not working during our stay. We paid a premium price for the hotel and were initially given a room on the 4th floor, despite none of the lifts being operational. What was particularly disappointing was that the staff did not seem apologetic about the inconvenience. We asked to be moved and were eventually given a room on the 1st floor with a nice balcony, which we appreciated, although the balcony itself could have been cleaner. Another inconvenience was the lack of power outlets next to the bed. This was quite frustrating, as nowadays you expect to be able to charge and use your devices while in bed. The wine opener provided in the room was also very poor quality and made of plastic. It broke while we were trying to open a bottle of wine, so we had to take the bottle to the restaurant. Surprisingly, we were told that they only had one proper wine opener in the entire hotel. Overall, these are details you would not expect when paying a premium price. The room change was appreciated, but the hotel could definitely improve its maintenance, amenities, cleanliness, and the way staff handle guest inconveniences.
