Hotel Avalon Paris Gare du Nord

It was very overpriced at that time.

Very nice location, clean, a nice bathtub in the room

It's really small, and the shower was kind of leaking to the floor a bit

Avalon was a great find close to Gare du Nord/ the Eurostar terminal. We tend to book nearby so it's easy to get the first train back to London and this was fabulous. It's a tasteful, budget friendly hotel -- and I hope good reviews don't change that. Most importantly, it had excellent air conditioning during the summer heatwave. It was a godsend to return to after a long day out and about in Paris. Rooms were also a good size (we booked a family room with an additional single bed). The bathroom was pretty tired, but shower pressure was great. Check-in staff were lovely (there was no bar fridge in our room but they stored items for us during the heat).

It's a very basic reception/ lobby area, and classic older style building (creaky lift, stairs). Standard for Paris but international visitors might find it off-putting.

Camera ampia.

Colazione poco abbondante e variabile. In conclusione prezzo elevato per i servizi offerti.
