Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel

The hotel is definitely getting a little tired and in need of modernisation. The reception area looks great and we had a good welcome. But it went downhill soon afterwards. We were given a room on the 9th floor. I had asked for a double bed (queen or king sized). Apparently no rooms were available with a queen/king and we were given a room with two singles (a twin). The room smelt of smoke, and the beds were the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in. We complained next morning and our room was changed. The bed was a massive improvement - one of the most comfortable we have slept in. The room still lacked a basic plug socket on both sides of the bed (phone was charged ‘remotely’ on the desk). The shower was part of the bath tap and not easy to control, and the bathroom area could do with a redecoration. On the plus side, location is perfect, the rooms large, and the breakfast was excellent. We probably would stay here again - but the price would need to remain competitive.

Location and staff, they were amazing. Kudos to Hesper, Angela, Simon and Rico. The boys downstairs who helped with our luggage. 10/10 to you all. Also Cafe Marco was very nice.q Thankyou for your caring service.

The rooms on level 17, where we stayed, were dated. Albeit large and comfortable. Again on level 17 there was a particular odour everywhere that was unpleasant.

We loved the space of the room and the wardrobe area.

No bidet for the toilet after a major upgrade to the room.

Location is perfect for touring Kowloon and accessing Hong Kong Island.

Bathrooms are tired, the property in tired in general and needs modernising in areas.
