Comfortable stay. Welcoming friendly staff. We enjoyed an evening meal and drinks there. All good. Tesco across the road to charge my EV.

Very comfortable bed. Also the staff. Food was good, both for supper and breakfast.
Tiny shower room and lack of bath mat. This was laughable in a superior room. There was a smell of smoke around the bar area, which may have been caused by people smoking just outside with the doors open! The lack of a lounge/bar area downstairs made our arrival feel unwelcoming - it just seemed as though we were entering a hall with dormitory corridors.

Check in (via tablet in lobby): one of the two machines was out of service; three staff stood chatting nearby instead of intervening or even acknowledging guests' arriving (not just us); check in machines required EXACTLY THE SAME information provided on pre-check in
Very close to a major dual carriageway so if you need to sleep with the window open, you're in for a noisy night
