I was really surprised by the quality of this hotel considering its position at a service station. I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much but I couldn’t have been more wrong! It was an excellent choice with superb friendly staff who made us very welcome. There was a really varied menu with good value deals. The food was plentiful and tasty! Superb value for money.
Its position is ideal for us - breaking our journey on the way up to Scotland. We would have no hesitation recommending this and will be staying again.
Staff were very helpful in finding my lost property too! Thank you!
Everything was beyond our expectations- really excellent. If I could change just one thing it would be the coffee from the machine at breakfast which wasn’t great but i do like good coffee so I’m a bit picky!

The rooms are always clean and tidy and spacious.
The food standards have dropped. The chicken and leek pie was burnt on the inside! How do manage to do that? It was rock solid and inedible. My chilli con carne was also chilli’s and no meat, also very confusing. So very disappointing as I’ve eaten here before and it’s always been fine. Definitely awful this time.
