All staff was friendly and helpful and it was nice to find somewhere a bit more affordable. The Highland Soap Company products are a nice touch. Dinner was served until quite late and always with a smile. Small pastries at breakfast were tasty and there was a good selection of food. Room was nice and quiet.
Shower was little more than a trickle (room 207) but plumbing in old building can be a nightmare to manage so it's just the way it goes. Just don't plan to wash your hair! Room was clean but not super clean (small details like dead fly on window sill, bathroom joint next to sink, around taps, tray for tea stuff could have been cleaner) And option for decaf coffee would be nice at breakfast.

We stayed to attend a family funeral, so it was very comforting to come back at night to a very comfortable bed and good food. Shane, the staff member who welcomed us at arrival was exceptional in his service and taking care of us over the couple of days of our stay. He was seemingly everywhere, doing everything with grace and humour and true caring. (He said he was just filling in, not permanent staff, but very much appreciated!)

Nice room, with a stunning view from the window.
After being seated for breakfast, we then had to wait over an hour for our order to be taken. It really set us back with our plans for the day!
