Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Cusco

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and go out of their way to assist you. Daniel, who is a bartender at the hotel bar, is very friendly and knowledgeable and he was a highlight of our stay. We were also upgraded to a suite during our stay, which was a very pleasant surprise.

We loved almost everything about our stay. The property is stunning—it might honestly be the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. My wife and I found the staff to be incredibly polite and helpful throughout our stay. While I wish I could remember all their names to recognize them individually, I have to give a special shout-out to Carlos, our bellman, who was exceptionally professional when bringing up our luggage. The decor and charm are absolute perfection—a true 5-star experience with local culture seamlessly intertwined.

My only real complaint is the relentless nickel-and-diming, which unfortunately seems to be a common theme in the Cusco region. For a hotel where I was already paying nearly $500 a night—more than I've ever spent on a stay—getting hit with extra charges left a sour taste. Being charged $64.66 ("Cargo de Comodidades en el Destino") just to hold our luggage while waiting for our room felt ridiculous. On top of that, while we were catching our breath trying to acclimate to the altitude, we were offered an immediate check-in for an extra $60 per night. At this price point, these constant upcharges were the only thing that took away from a great experience.
