A fantastic old castle. We stayed in the Prince Suite ... which was well named and spectacular.
The castle makes extensive use of antique furniture and fittings, which is perfect for a true castle stay. It does mean, for example, that chairs will not have the "solid" feel of 21st century chairs. This should be expected, and is part of the charm - so it is actually a benefit.
For our stay, we had a choice for dinner of either the multi-course tasking menu, or eating in the lounge. We chose the lounge, which we did not understand meant we were sitting on lounge chairs and not at a table. Eating in this way is not very comfortable, but I think this really should be treated as our mistake, and not a problem with the Hotel itself. Chalk this up to experience - we should have asked !

The breakfast was of good quality but not very extensive
Inverlochy hotel's price/quality is totally out of balance. Comparing to the Cromlix where we were the days before.
No welcome drink at arrival/ bad matrass/old material/ no extra toiletpaper in the bathroom/ the staff was too formal and distant/ no terrace open/ no fresh fruit in the rooms or chocolate.
