The Royal Victoria hotel is extremely well located as it is within walking distance from the train station (20 minutes), the Piazza dei Miracoli (15 minutes) and other famous landmarks. The staff is extremely friendly, and we were able to leave our luggage at reception after our check out until we were ready to leave the city. The breakfast was good, typical for Italy (sweet pastries, juices, coffee) with some options for savoury fans (scrambled eggs and cold cuts). The hotel is very old, so the rooms have a lot of charm, and the view on the Arno from our room was definitely a plus.
Due to the location of our room on the third floor and the age of the hotel (thick walls), the free WiFi was definitely worse than just using cellular data. Additionally, and we are guessing this is again due to the age of the building, the hot water in the shower was more lukewarm/cool than expected. The hotel vastly makes up for these downsides with exceptional service and beautiful setting.

Location was key here and it delivered
Unable to park at hotel car park, had to park a 10 minute walk away. No renovation taken place at this hotel, the room was something out of the 60’s and I think the mattress was equally old and very uncomfortable
