The Metropole Hotel Cork

All the staff were excellent and very friendly, helpful and kind

Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is beautiful. Good location.

The main elevator was out of service so we had to take the service elevator to our room on the 4th floor. Reception did not indicate that the service elevator only went to the 3rd floor. My husband had to carry our large bags up a flight of stairs. The hotel could have notified us in advance (before we arrived) that the elevator didn't work or upon check in, placed us on a lower level once they saw that we were seniors. It is a busy hotel that handles bus tours and the lower levels may have been full. Letting us know about the service elevator only going to the 3rd floor or assistance would have been appreciated. At breakfast, we arrived in the dining room to find the staff putting away the hot breakfast. Speaking with a waiter we were told that we could have breakfast from the cold buffet or order a la carte. He did not tell us that once the bus leaves, the remaining guests can choose their complimentary breakfast from the menu. The explanation came later. A bit of confusion but breakfast was good. We were only there for one night and I'm sure their elevator situation has been resolved.

Great location Nice breakfast overlooking the quay Attentive staff

Loved the bottom floor and the set down area.

Room was very basic, not clean and had a funny smell. I am 34 weeks pregnant and asked for a room closer to the lift and they couldn’t help me. Also had no one help me with my bags as I arrived
