Kahanda Kanda

Kahanda Kanda was honestly incredible, and easily the best service we’ve had at a resort. We went during monsoon season, but it very rarely rained during the day, and because it was so quiet, the whole place felt incredibly peaceful and intimate. The setting is something else, surrounded by jungle and tea plantations. We stayed in Hibiscus Villa, which was gorgeous. Monkeys swung through the trees around us and peacocks wandered around and flew between the trees, calling to each other as the evening came to an end. We watched it all from our infinity pool, which genuinely felt like our own private wildlife show. Even the monitor lizards, which initially gave me a fright, ended up being quite cute 😂 The service was exceptional from start to finish. We arrived in the middle of the night and, after messaging us during our journey to get our details and dinner order, Chanaka and team greeted us and took us straight to our villa, where our little picnic box dinner was waiting. Throughout the stay, everything from housekeeping and turndown to laundry, room service and pool cleaning was timed so perfectly around us that by the time we thought to ask for something, it had often already been done. All the staff were so kind and so so welcoming. Every single one of them just seemed so happy to be there, and were striving to make every part of our stay as perfect as they possibly could! The food was fantastic, with everything freshly sourced or grown in-house. The seafood platter was incredible and easily enough for 3–4 people. The facilities were perfect, I had a great massage every day, and their homemade mosquito spray actually worked brilliantly. And of course, Rossi the dog deserves a little shout out too — she welcomed us in the middle of the night and popped up during our stay to say hi and make us smile 🐶 We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Honestly, nothing! I just wish we could have stayed longer.

This hotel is just beautiful. Set in a tea plantation with the most amazing rooms. Would highly recommend staying in Villa Hibiscous. The staff were so attentive and friendly especially Roshin who also took us on a boat trip. The food was delicious. We would definitely come back. Thank you

The property is located in a very beautiful setting among the trees.

After entering the room I lay down on the bed and was badly bitten by fleas or something similar, not mosquitoes, it was extremely painful and felt like my body was going into shock. I left the room and felt I couldn’t go back and left the property as soon as I could arrange a driver and had to book a hotel elsewhere. They didn’t offer to arrange a driver or refund me, not even a partial refund, so I paid double price for the night and wasted my money. My health and comfort is a priority so I had to leave the venue and go to another hotel. The road to the property is full of big potholes and in poor condition, not suitable for a car. The wall outside the room was in poor condition ie paint was peeling off and didn’t look like a 5 star property in this condition. It needs maintenance.
