One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Located right in the heart of Beijing's hutongs, Shichahai Shadow art hotel did not disappoint. Make sure you catch the live shadow art performance. Truly a magnificent experience. The staff were amazing and spoke very good English. The room is quite spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom. Make sure you walk by the river to experience the magic of Beijing - only 5min walk away from the hotel. Thank you for the warm welcome! We look forward to coming back.

The hotel common areas and dining room were beautifully decorated and appointed, tasteful with beautiful art. Good location close to beautiful lake and park. Staff were friendly and helpful although a bit too solicitous at times. Sad to miss the shadow puppet show!

The room itself was the smallest room we've ever stayed, we could not even walk around the mattress. There was no actual bed, only a mattress on a platform. Barely room to open your suitcase. Room needs a good though cleaning and coat of white paint. Shower door leaked water onto the floor.
