The youth hostel is located in a nice area close to the city center of Basel. The building is very modern and gives you the feeling of "being at home". Nice corners to read a book or plan further travels, a bar with local beers and ice, terrace for breakfast, play corner for kids, books from all kind of topics to get inspiration, a small stream in front of the door, large trees,.... We stayed in a four bunk beds room with shared bathroom and it all was amazing. We even slept very well and everything was really clean.
I believe the breakfast could be a bit more "mature"... there was not enough bread, would love to have eg eggs. But this is a matter of expectation. In total, the stay was great.

The included breakfast, the included ticket for public transport.
The receptionist ignored me for minutes upon check in. She was eating her sandwich totally unbothered while I was standing there waiting to be checked in
