Situated in between Dullstroom and Lydenburg, this picturesque Trout Lodge is bordered by a river with 2 dams, regularly stocked with trout. All accommodations have a private terrace with views of the pine trees and distant mountains.

The incredible views, peaceful setting and beautiful surroundings. Unit 5 was clean, comfortable and fully equipped. The staff were warm and friendly, and our fly-fishing lesson with Oupa was a highlight, he was patient, knowledgeable and great fun.
The shower in Unit 5 had very low water pressure, and there was some mould between the shower tiles. This was the only real downside to an otherwise fantastic stay.

The venue is peaceful and everything was provided for, eg. fire wood, kitchen facilities, hot water bottles etc. My husband was happy with the fishing facilities.
I felt like the reviews overated Stonecutters. There is not a lot to do at the venue and the kitchen facilities are old and in need of a revamp. I mentioned to the cleaning lady that the dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes properly and the sink was leaking. We battled to get the wifi to work and had to figure it out by ourselves. The venue is very average but I felt like we were charged a premium rate so I do not feel that the weekend was value for money.
