Generator Venice

I stayed in a 16 bed room, but it was still very comfortable. There were no curtains on the beds, but they had solid backs and sides so you didn't feel like there was that many other people and it helped cut down the noise. Each bed had a light and outlet. There was a locker room downstairs that you could pay to store your luggage in. I did this after checkout and it was pretty easy and worked well. The front desk was always staffed and it was very easy to talk to them and ask questions if needed. I also liked the water fountain downstairs. The hostel was not on the main island, but it was really close to a ferry stop with two lines that frequently came, so it was easy to get around.

This isn't really a negative, since it did work just fine, but the lockers were sliding containers under the bed. I was able to shove my carry on and backpack in, but the low height and flap opening only half the depth made it a bit awkward. Because it pulled out under half the bed I couldn't get down the ladder when the other person had theirs out. I think it would have been better for the bottom bunk to have the locker not directly under the ladder to prevent this issue. The restrooms were gender segregated. This wouldn't have been a problem for most people, but as a nonbinary person it meant that I wasn't really able to use the restroom or shower. I quickly ran in when I had to, but it made me very uncomfortable and I wasn't able to shower at all. I think there was a disabled toilet downstairs that I might have been able to use, but I didn't ask.

we had an amazing view from our window! AC was working perfectly, the staff was nice and friendly.

Fantastic place to stay, with a great location that makes exploring Venice easy from Guidecca while still offering a relaxed atmosphere. The layout is spacious and well thought out, and the stylish interior design gives the hostel a really cool, modern feel. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a great hostel and an excellent choice for visiting Venice!

While Generator Venice has plenty going for it, there were a few things I didn’t love. There’s no kitchen or food service, aside from pastries available at the café, and coffee isn’t available until the café opens at 7:00am which sucks if you’re getting up early. Storage is also limited to paid lockers, which can be inconvenient if you arrive early or need to leave your luggage for a while after checking out.

I loved the place and location with it‘s unique view on Venice and Redentore church. The staff was very friendly and always helpfull.

13 beds in One room. Only to toiletts and Two shower per gender on each floor. Not enough for the amount of People per floor. The shower are very Small and narrow. No real Place to Store cloth and towels when taking a shower. Toiletts Not very clean. Always a wet floor. Only One sink to wash hands or teeth.
