the lodge is completely immersed in nature. it was an old family house, all in wood. it has a natural swimming pool (with fresh not treated water). it is surrounded by the forest, so in the evening you can only hear the sounds of nature. the staff is very kind and helpful, they helped me booking the transport to arrive to Cat Ba and there is also the possibility to organise some boat tours and rent a scooter.
the price of being immersed in the peace and tranquility of the nature, is that the location is a bit far away from the city center and from the beaches. you need to rent a scooter (20 minutes) or take the bus (40 min walking + 30 min bus) to go to the center.
Remind that in the structure you can only pay in VND, so you have to be prepared and arrive with some cash

Природа вокруг потрясающая. Персонал хорошо говорит на английском. Очень отзывчивые ребята. Хорошие комнаты, удобная кровать, отличный завтрак. Буду рекомендовать своим друзьям ваш отель!

Staff were very welcoming, super friendly and helpful. Amazing to be out in the jungle hearing the sounds of frogs and lizards. The homestay dinner was all around great, and the place was clean and tidy as well as very charming and relaxing. Lots of fans in the outdoor dining area, air con in the rooms and mosquito nets on the beds. It was great to stay away from the hustle of the town.
If you are expecting a modern western-standard hotel this is not it, however if you are expecting a clean and tidy local stay away from city comforts this is a great choice.
If you want total quiet at night, it'd be best to book a private cabin. We stayed in a room with others next door and it can be loud (to be expected with a basic rural building).
No complimentary transport in and out of town. I read somewhere there were free bicycles but that's not true. Scooters and bikes are available to rent for a fee. Taxi each way was 200,000 vnd so no big deal though it would add up if you stayed for a long time.

Location is in a stunning valley. We hiked on a overgrown path to the nearby Butterfly valley which was beautiful. Staff very friendly
The standard of the room we received (not the room booked, but apparently an upgrade…) did not meet our expectation - although it had a very nice view, it was tiny, very basic, and unfortunately we had ants in our room which meant we couldn’t leave the door open (despite screen) for ventilation. Very uncomfortable. The location is also far away from everything and therefore renting a scooter or using taxis is necessary. We decided to check out early. The owner did refund the remaining nights.
