Everything was perfect and way better than advertised! Via Lucis is a located in a beautiful setting, really calm but very close to the city center. The sympathy and kindness of the staff, the common areas and the simple, comfortable and clean bedrooms are remarkable. Great location, you can park for free, which is a huge advantage compared to other places right in the city center, but it is also a nice, fast walk away from the main attractions. The breakfast is really fresh, with seasonal fruit, fresh bread, cheese, good coffe and juice, and cereals, everything you nees for a good and healthy breakfast. Would recommend this calm, beautiful place to any travelers around!

Everything was perfect.

Tranquil place- a short nice walk via park to the cathedral. Nearby restaurant with tasty lunch set for around 6.3€, which is a steal compared to the €20 meal set around the cathedral. It is inside the USC campus which is much better than the commercilized surroundings of the cathedral. This is an ideal place for those who want to continue their prayers/silence as it has its own chapel. Nice breakfast too!

Mosquitoes got into our room when we left our windows wide open throught the night, our fault though.

The breakfast is really a poor one

The building is beautiful and the staff are very helpful. It is an old hospital and the nuns still service the building. The rooms are big and clean. It is quite magical.

We got breakfast for $5 euro and I would skip that if staying again. The bread was lovely but there isn't much else on offer.

Very quiet, close to the city 15 minutes walk, good parking,good breakfast. Elevator. Best shower during the holiday, with good water!

A very nice and quiet place. I appreciated the calm, the ambience and the friendly staff. Close to the city center, with parking space, nice garden, very clean and with breakfast as an option. I loved my stay there and will be back.

Peace and tranquility in Santiago

Excellent staff- everyone was very helpful- Room was very roomy and bed was comfortable. Very quiet are by the university.

The shower was a stand up stall with only A curtain, you had to be very careful not to flood the room.

This is a really nice place to stay. It is located in the campus of the university, so it you come with a working visit to the USC it is just perfect. The breakfast is very pleasant, the staff is friendly and the place is quiet. It has its own internal and external yards, both charming. The sound isolation is not that great, but the whole historical and religious vibe is likely to make people to make less noise :) Loved it!

May be, some renovation of interiors would make the place even better. Also, there is no everyday cleaning, so if you want your room made up you need to ask for it.

Casa Diocesana it's within La Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, and it was about 10-15 minuted walk to town. The hospederia was quiet, and pretty safe. Since we drove, it was nice that it had free parking. The staff/ nuns were pretty friendly and accommodating. The room rate came with a very basic breakfast (basket of Galician bread, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, different types of jams, butter, sliced cheese and ham, white bread, fruits, some pastry) But it was a nice start for the day. The front desk has a hairdryer. There is one washer, 3.5 euro/load, and a dryer, 3 euro/load. The room was small, no frills, but clean.

The room was small and on top of that we were giving one with 3 beds for just 2 of us. The bathroom shower was a problem. The first night, the shower head fell off. Eventually we learned how to keep it in place by holding it with one hand. The shower stall had a shower curtain around it, and the shower curtain kept clinging to you when you were trying to take a shower. The place is undergoing some major renovations. So when we were there it was dusty and noisy at times. There's no TV, but there's Wi-Fi.

The property is really nice and quiet and the location is perfect, within the university campus. The staff is very kind too

It's just a pity that you can hear absolutely everything that is going on in other rooms. The property didn't seem to be full but for some reason all guests seemed to be located in the same area. If the soundproofing of the building is not improved, at least when not full, they should try to spread guests across more far away rooms, otherwise all the quietness of the surroundings is spoiled with all the noise travelling within rooms.
