Jungle Beach an Uga Experience - Trincomalee

The property is stunning, the room was incredible, the food was amazing and the staff was super friendly, kind and attentive

We went during rain seasons so at night it was a bit scary getting back to the room as there were small insects and frogs on the path, I would suggest brighter lights on the path to the rooms

Lack of evening entertainment or things to do. Insects after the rains meant that having dinner was a bit annoying.

The hotel and staff were amazing - always on hand for anything that we needed help with. Special shout out to Mitila and Manoj from the F&B team - they looked after us so well and were so friendly, always chatting to us and giving us recommendations of where we could go. The sustainability initiatives were fantastic - especially the breakfast being a la carte to avoid food wastage. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, and would absolutely go back or explore some of the other Uga properties in Sri Lanka. Would often see monkeys around the property, it was an absolute oasis. The food was fantastic, we often stayed in the hotel for dinner and having a different menu every day of the week kept it very fresh

The activities on offer were often 2 or 3 times more expensive than acquiring them externally - understand that a mark up makes sense but doesn't need to be more than double the normal price. Because of the location (minimum 15-20 minute tuk tuk from the closest town), would recommend the hotel offer complimentary tuk tuks for guests to get them to the closest town, would very much help people get out and about more as it was sometimes time consuming to get taxis/tuk tuks to come to the hotel.
