Bart and Elke were the best of hosts. The staff (Bussy in particular) were very good. The food was superb, make sure you book in for a dinner as Bart's cooking is first rate. We really appreciated the way one of our party was looked after when she wasn't well, above and beyond anything we have experienced before. We asked Elke and Bart to organise all our tours and experiences while we were there, and the companies they referred us to were excellent, from the Panoramic route, to the day in Kruger Park, as well as the boat trip on the Blyde Canyon. Their recommendations, such as the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre were also much appreciated.

Nothing, we loved it all from the warthog's daily visit to the excellent customer service.

I had such a lovely stay in African Rock Lodge. From the moment I arrived, the welcome was truly warm and made me feel at home right away. The staff were so kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even more special. The room was very comfortable, clean, and peaceful perfect for relaxing after a day out. And you can check in the lovely restaurant just in 5-10 minute... the most memorable parts was being able to see animals so easily… spotting giraffes nearby was just amazing and felt so unique. Overall, it was a beautiful experience, and I would definitely love to come back again 🤍
