Hotel Concierge Plaza Colima

This hotel proved to be a great choice... it's a handsome, historic hotel with balconies overlooking a main square in Colima. The hotel's colonial architecture shows the dignity, spaciousness and solidity of an era now gone -- vastly superior to modern hotels. Our room was small but quite appealing, with high ceilings, a window and balcony looking across the plaza. It had an attractive foyer with leather chairs and windows also overlooking the plaza. The receptionists were cordial and professional. The cleaning ladies were charming. The hotel has a lovely little swimming pool next to a leafy courtyard along one side of its imposing edifice. Some rooms have only interior windows opening to a marble hallway; these rooms would be best avoided.

Breakfast is served in a restaurant next door, with tables under the arcade and looking out to the plaza. Very good food and service, but we regret we did not go to the 'mercado,' the nearby municipal market with stalls where fruits and vegetables are sold and always you can find a fruit juice stand and a breakfast counter serving absolutely authentic choices.

The cleanliness, safety, and location. Staff spoke english helped a lot.

Pool and gym look nothing like pictures. No chance you can use them.

They use to many and too much products with disgusting fragrance throughout the hotel and inside the room, fortunately it was possible to open the windows to reduce the horrendous smell.
