It was 6 adults, on this trip.. There was plenty of room for everyone. Mr.Shaw, made us feel like family and not just guest. All of his family was kind as well. The home was extremely clean and smells so good.. The best part about our whole stay, was those grilled oysters..Omg, the best I have ever had. The bread and potato served with them melts and your mouth..But guess what, Mr.Shaw asked what we were drinking, and had 2 bottles of wine waiting when we arrived. My children, son in law, sister and I are truly grateful for such a kind host..We really do appreciate, your hospitality Mr.Shaw..God continue to bless, you and your family..

Ervin met us as we arrived because I had accidentally missed his earlier communication. He was friendly and helpful. He even made us dinner the last night. Best grilled oysters I've ever had!

The host was very responsive and accommodating. He made delicious oysters and had a bottle of crown waiting for us at check- in, and his wife made delicious gumbo. Two of the rooms have a king size bed and a private bathroom, which was a great surprise. The third bedroom got the main bathroom, which worked out nicely. I have traveled to New Orleans several times and I do think you will want to uber or drive to the French Quarter, as I don't think it is in walking distance or a safe walk if you're not from the area. We drove and didn't have a problem. There are also grocery stores within a short drive. Overall, I would recommend staying here and would stay again.

This was a charming place and the hosts made it even more special by making us part of the family while giving us our space at the same time!!

My family and me came to New Orleans for the Halloween festivities and decided to stay here. The home itself was clean, and suited for a large group of people. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating on top of being amazing cooks. The oyster sampling was delicious, and even the apprehensive people enjoyed them. The gumbo they have available is also AMAZING. Everything they offer is reasonably priced, traditional New Orleans food, and they’re directly next door. I had no issues with the property at all and honestly didn’t even have to ask for anything. All of the Ubers were $20 or less getting to the French Quarter or Marigny. The neighborhood was quiet at night, so we got solid sleep after all of our activities.

Super clean and comfy. The host family were all super nice and Ervin was great. The oysters when we arrived were awesome and got the whole trip off to a great start. The house is an easy Uber ride to the Quarter. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful at night. Never had any problems. Would definately repeat!

This rental is perfect for a stay in New Orleans. We felt like family. Mr. Shaw and his wife were so accommodating, he even fed us grilled oysters with his secret sauce. We will definitely stay there every time we are in New Orleans. We fell in love with his family and home. Can't wait to go back.

Believe all the reviews. The best food we had all weekend was cooked by Ervin and his wife. They are wonderful and accommodating. We'll definitely stay here again!

2nd time staying here. As Mr Ervin says. Come as friends leave as family. This is and will always be our place to stay when visiting New Orleans. Comfortable well appointed house to stay in. Easy quick ride to the quarter. Quiet neighborhood. Looking forward to the next time we can get down here and enjoy the city.

I've stayed at several locations across the country and Ervin is easily the best host. He was outstanding and we will definitely stay with him the next time we visit NOLA. All the other reviews have said it but I still have to include that the oysters are excellent!

My 2 sons and I stayed at this lovely home for our Spring Break vacation in New Orleans. Our hosts contacted us prior to our arrival to introduce themselves and offer their assistance for information about making our vacation the best possible. We arrived on a late flight with a welcome text from our host letting us know they were preparing a welcome for us. That welcome included a wonderful bottle of my choice of liquor, freshly grilled oysters as well as some other tasty snacks. Our host showed us our immaculately clean and well equipped house. Our beds were vey comfortable and the house so welcoming. He chatted with us about our plans and helped us with suggestions and even drive around with us our first morning to show us the area. Additionally, our host and his wife were both excellent cooks and you have the option of ordering delicious and freshly cooked means from them. We ordered dinner several nights during our stay and those meals were all delicious! I have used VRBO for many years and numerous trips and have never felt so welcomed by a host! Not only was our house so comfortable, but the host couple made us feel as welcomed as friends. Interacting with this lovely couple was a highlight of our trip and they even went out of their way to help us. We had a problem with our airline and last minute needed to stay an extra day in New Orleans and they allowed us to stay an extra day. A huge part of my initial decision to rent this home was all the positive reviews about the home, area and the owners. The reviews are accurate, this is hands down there best experience I have ever had renting through VRBO and I now consider Ervin and his wife to be wonderful new friends! Trust the reviews, rent this home and have a wonderful vacation in New Orleans!

Space was great, lots of bathrooms. Easy to get a cheap Uber/Lyft anywhere you need to go.

This property is GREAT! Ervin and Darlene are the best hosts you could ask for. Earlier in the day, I had given Ervin an arrival time, and he called about 5 minutes prior to that time to make sure we were still on schedule so he could fire up the grill for the complimentary oysters! When we arrived, Ervin was there waiting to greet us, with the grill ready. We had a wonderful evening enjoying the complimentary alcohol and delicious, complimentary oyster sample. I say sample, but it comes with 2 oysters, bread, and half of a potato, so come hungry!! We also enjoyed the gumbo that Darlene made. It’s a large portion, so again, come hungry!! I recommend asking for some crab/seafood crackers to open the crab claw, and have some cash since the gumbo is for purchase and is not complimentary like the oysters. We also got a great tour from Ervin! He showed us around the area where Katrina hit and how the city has been rebuilt. We saw a cemetery, a beautiful lake, a few local hot spots to check out, and so much more! We were there during Mardi Gras, so Ervin also showed us the best place to watch the parades!! I recommend taking this tour when it’s light outside so you can see all the beauty of the City! Ervin and Darlene have great recommendations for everything: food, bars, tattoo shops, parade locations, clubs, grocery stores, art, etc. The house itself was spectacular! It was very clean and spacious, and it’s in a prime location - so close to everything!! We felt right at home! The beds were comfortable and the deck and hot tub were amazing! We had a party of 4 and it was perfect! We easily could have had 2-3 more people and still have been very comfortable. I definitely recommend booking this place for your NOLA trip! After staying with Ervin and Darlene, I’m very hesitant to book anywhere else in NOLA! This property is a must for all my NOLA visits going forward!

Ervin was an excellent host and the house was fantastic. He cooked oysters for us , took us to store and accommodated anything we needed, the only negative is that we were no where near walking distance to the French quarter and when I originally booked I was under the impression that it was not that far away.

Great stay for 2 moms and 3 daughters :) none of whom cared for oysters until we experienced Ervins oysters! It was actually the best meal we had during our stay in New Orleans! We really enjoyed the tour he gave us, he definitely has a passion for his home. Highly recommended Thanx Ervin!!

This place was clean, well equipped and very close to the city. Ervin and Darlene are great people. Ervin took us on a tour of New Orleans and served us the best oysters I’ve ever eaten. You should stay here just to get the oysters.

The Shaw's were great to stay with. The residence was clean and everything went smoothly with check in. We arrived late or else I think they would have helped us carry stuff in, they were so hospitable. We took Ervin up on his offer for oysters while we were there. I must say for someone who has never had them prepared to my liking, these were AMAZING!! The gumbo was also very very delicious. About the only improvement or heads up is if you have larger people with you note that the beds are queen size. One in our group was 6'8" over 350lbs, he said it wasn't bad but prefers a larger bed. So it is doable. He also said cause he tosses a lot deep pocket sheets would have kept him from pulling the sheets off each night. The hot tub was a perfect bonus for this group from Iowa who loved the mid October weather in Southern Louisiana!! 10 out of 10 would stay here again. We were in town for a conference, morning traffic was not too awful to get to the Ernest N Morial Convention Center. Less than 30 minutes in morning traffic, possibly closer to 20 - we didn't time it but it seemed reasonable. There are some great food joints close too. Bywater Bakery is a must - I recommend the Croque Madame. J's Creole Wings right when you get off of Hwy 10 will be a repeat stop. I am sure if you ask Ervin will give you great recommendations too. I wish we had had time to take him up on going on a tour of New Orleans. Maybe next time Erivn!!!

Our hosts were very gracious with their time, answering any questions we had on the tour he gave us. Everything was as expected. I will stay here again!

Ervin and Darlene were so kind and nice to talk to! And words cannot express how ridiculously good the chargrilled oysters that Ervin made us were! His wife Darlene made us some amazing gumbo as well!! The house was clean and roomy and even though we didn’t partake, the hot tub looked so inviting! We enjoyed ourselves and will hopefully be back sometime soon!! We appreciate y’all 😊

This was a perfect rental for our family of 6! Everything was newly remodeled and extremely clean. Having three bathrooms and a laundry was amazing ! The hosts were very friendly and helpful! It was a short drive to the French Quarter using the highways and had free, available parking . I would definitely go there again! It was an overall great experience!

We had an incredible time there in New Orleans. The owner was super accommodating and took great care of us. There’s a lot of good restaurants around but the best Orchers we found at the property made by the owner.

Ervin was extremely accommodating of our arrival time, even calling to check on us. When we arrived he had cold beer ready for us and cooked us oysters. I have never had oysters because they dont look appetizing, but his oysters looked amazing and tasted even better. The house was the perfect size for our group and everything was beautiful. I definitely recommend staying here. When we return, we will definitely be staying here again!
