Shah of Persia, Poole by Marston's Inns

A really good place to stay either for getting an early ferry or coming off a late ferry. 10 minutes from the port.easy to find. Room was perfect room8. ( only slight issue was the air extractor ,I think, outside the window. Was quite noisy. But no big deal). The shower was super powerful and hot. The young lad who booked me in and sorted my room, beers, parking etc was very helpful and friendly. A real asset. 👍. Breakfast was good. And checkout was great up to 11am. Definatly worth checking out if you’re in Poole.

It was too near the main road where ambulances and police went by, under where our room was located.

breakfast selection varied and quality, daytime menu well balanced, well served and vfm. Staff polite and attentive at all times. Old Style but lovely.

Stairs to bedrooms need a little care if you are less able on your feet - no lift

We chose the Shah of Persia for its proximity to the Quay at Poole – with a 10 minute drive there from the hotel, albeit around rush hour travelling time. The Shah of Persia is a Marstons with restaurant and pub facilities. Constantly busy in the bar and restaurant. The pub was dated with old brown décor and the access to the rooms was up a steep flight of stairs. I have a heart problem and the luggage transport to the room was difficult. The room itself was functional, in a corner with no view from the only window which had a decaying wooden frame. Clean with all the usual facilities and the staff were polite and helpful especially with the WiFi connections. We spent two nights there which was enough. The restaurant was a Typical Marstons, competitively priced for reasonable food in a busy restaurant .
