Because of the historic building (1907) and size of hotel it’s an impressive and chiq place to stay. The ballroom breakfast and dinner is attractive.

I really surprise. Normally large hotels in the uk can be a bit dated, but they are trying hard to update everything. Bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and comfortable, restaurants and food were good, excellent waiting staff at both Miller lounge and breakfast. Hotel has amble lifts for your bags. Car parking is first come served along their private road leading to the hotel, so drop your bags at entrance first and then park to avoid a walk uphill.
First and last experience (reception & check out) was a little abrupt (guess we arrived and left at busy times).
The exterior of the hotel is being painted at the moment, which is an inconvenience but shouldn’t last more than a couple of weeks.

Loved the location and the hotel design and layout plus the friendly staff
Very tired, needs a great deal of TLC however some of that is being addressed with the current painting process outside. TVs room we were given was very dark and dingy
