A few of the bathrooms were not well stocked with supplies. Bathroom sinks drained very slowly.

Perfect location for exploring the golden circle. Cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Super helpful and friendly staff. Within walking distance of the Fontana thermal spa which is worth a visit. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

a great guesthouse with wonderful hosts, and perfectly located. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathrooms had great showers and the room was a good size. The breakfast was an excellent selection and very nicely presented, and we were asked if we wanted to wrap up what we had not eaten and take it for lunch (being provided with foil and bags). one of nicest places we have stayed.

There were some families with small children running wild in the hallways in the evening.

The location is amazing. It's just steps away from the spa and several restaurants. The breakfast was tasty and a good variety of things, although they didn't get everything out until nearly 30 min after breakfast time started.

We were located in a corner room at the front of the building. This meant we got the noise from people standing around talking and also the flood lights illuminating the building made it very bright in our room even with the curtains. Also they make you take off your shoes, which is a bit odd. They do have slippers, but it was not apparent how frequently they are washed so I chose to walk in my socks instead.

There is no doubth the house is beautifull and is located in a beautifull landscape. The decoration inside is amazing, full of old radios, pianos, cupboards, etc. It also has a big library, a cosy restaurant and large common areas where to stay during the cold winter. I took a room with shared bathroom. The room was clean and enjoyed nice views of the lake. There are plenty of plugs to charge your devices. There were several toilets and bathrooms and all of them were clean and functional. There are toilets in all floors but showers only in the second floor. The armosphere is that of a family house or youth hostel. Of course you need to remove your shoes before entering. The house has lots of photos of the founders and famous people hosted here. The house is conveniently located in between Gulfoss and the Þingvellir national park.

They must improve the quality of quilts.

Absolutely beautiful attention to detail, loved all the old artifacts, pictures etc and that they preserved the history of this historic building! Rooms were cute with a great view, comfy beds and adequate info about everything. Dinner was good quality for the price, the coffee in the morning was some of the best I´ve had in Iceland. All the staff were exceptional, friendly and professional, and Dan at reception gave us all the info, answered our questions, was very informative about everything, polite and friendly. Whoever is in charge here, knows what they´re doing and has anticipated guest needs. Everything was clean, they provided slippers, cozy common areas and so nice to be able to see the history of the place decorating the hotel.

A couple hooks in the room would be nice so we can hang up towels and coats. And a bedside lamp would be nice, as otherwise it was bright white office light (not my fave type of lighting for a hotel) or complete darkness.

Location : great views, and short steps to a great pool and exemplary restaurant. Friendly staff, and a lovely lounge
