Appreciated the heads up about the being in a noisy area Friday/Saturday nights. Staff member who greeted me was knowledgeable and friendly.

I realise majority of backpackers are traveling sans vehicle, but a heads up about available parking in the area would have been a factor in my decision to stay here.

The proximity to public bus, food places, beaches & seas, museum …the property’s facilities, & the staff’s friendliness….Next time if I come back, I’ll still choose Ariki Backpackers !

Great facilities and friendly hosts, but avoid Room 10 We stayed in Room 10 (a 5-bed dorm with a private bathroom and toilet) from Friday to Sunday. We had to cut our trip short and check out early due to poor weather, but I wanted to share my feedback on the accommodation itself. On the positive side, the room was comfortable, and the hosts were very friendly. The kitchen facilities are excellent—there is a generous supply of cutlery and crockery, and there is always boiling water available, which is a big plus.

I must warn future guests about Room 10. While the location seemed fine during the day, this room is situated directly above a bar/club. The music starts around 11:00 PM and continues until late, accompanied by loud noise from people talking and laughing below. Unfortunately, I found it impossible to sleep through the noise. If you are a light sleeper, I highly recommend requesting a different room away from the bar area. I truly hope the rest of the dorms don't have this issue, as the property itself is well-managed and welcoming.
