Palazzo Suriano Heritage Hotel

First, let me say that for my wife and me, Vietri sul Mare, on Italy's Amalfi coast was about as perfect a getaway location as we could wish for. And lodging at the charming and beautiful Palazzo Suriano Heritage Hotel topped off an absolutely perfect experience! That being said, if you have a heart condition or other health concerns that limit your ability to navigate relatively steep but short hilly areas, or if you have special access needs, then this might not be your best option. If you do not mind walking (or better yet enjoy it as we do) then this might be your next best vacation. Vietri sul Mare is the first little village on the Amalfi coast, just past Salerno and on the way to the better-known and more crowded Positano and Sorrento. It is a charming village known for its colorful ceramics. The people are warm and welcoming, even to a couple of Americans like us! Unlike Rome and Florence, where nearly everyone (at least everyone working in the restaurants, shops, and hotels) speak English, this is not so true in Vietri sul Mare. Not to worry, a little Google translate and a few shoulder shrugs and communication is delivered, received, acknowledged, and acted upon, with smiles and a few chuckles all around. Regarding the Palazzo Suriano Heritage Hotel, it truly lives up to its name, owned and operated by the same family for generations, it exceeds expectations with its lovely decor and room appointments. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The continental breakfast is simply one of the best either of us has experienced. It features fresh local fruits, homemade pastries, coffee of all styles and eggs cooked to order. This might be our first visit to this lovely hotel and charming little village, but it will not be our last!

Eleganza sobria, arredi consoni all’importanza del Palazzo, biblioteca ben tenuta, librerie nei corridoi, oggetti storici, cura dei particolari. Colazione gradevolissima

Posizione non comodissima per chi ha qualche problema di mobilità. È tutto vicino ma, essendo in posizione più elevata, anche raggiungere Marina, può essere stancante nel periodo più caldo
