Sofitel Dubai Downtown

Close to Dubai mall. Vicki at breakfast was welcome and friendly. Concierge desk helpful when I needed medical assistance.

Room service was called 3 times to bring milk. One day our room wasn’t cleaned at all.

The service and the staff who are all polite and courteous. The room is very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We loved the restaurant Swiss Butter. Service and food were equally good.

A small drawback that I had observed is the ladies' change room in the swimming pool..Majority of the showers did not work. There was a musty smell as if the change room had not been used for a while. I think this must be attended right away to prepare for the high season of tourists.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sofitel Dubai Downtown and can highly recommend this hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with great warmth and professionalism. The entire staff was extremely friendly, attentive, helpful, and always ready to assist. The level of service throughout my stay was truly excellent. My room was spacious, modern, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of Dubai. The entire hotel has an elegant and welcoming atmosphere. The location is fantastic. Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, and many of Downtown Dubai’s main attractions are very easy and convenient to reach. The breakfast was also excellent, offering a wide variety of high-quality options. Overall, everything was exactly what I would expect from a luxury 5-star hotel. A special thank you to the entire team at Sofitel Dubai Downtown for their wonderful hospitality and outstanding service. I felt very comfortable and genuinely welcomed throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Sofitel Dubai Downtown. A truly excellent experience and well-deserved 5 stars!

The hotel has an excellent location in Downtown Dubai, making it very convenient to explore the city. The room itself was spacious, clean, comfortable and well maintained. These were definitely the highlights of my stay.

Unfortunately, the service did not meet my expectations for a five-star hotel. Check-in: I had informed the hotel in advance that I would be arriving early, and they confirmed that this would be fine. I had also included an early check-in request in my reservation. However, I actually arrived later than the standard check-in time, and my room was still not ready. I had to wait approximately 35 minutes in the lobby. Room amenities: Several amenities I would normally expect from a five-star hotel appeared to be missing, including a shaving kit, bathroom scale and hairdryer. When I requested a scale to weigh my suitcase, I was told that only a large scale was available downstairs at the lobby. Pool service: This was by far the most disappointing aspect of my stay. I spent three days at the pool, and not once did a staff member approach me to ask whether everything was satisfactory or whether I wanted to order food or drinks. Every time I wanted something, I had to get up and walk to the bar myself. Only for the bill to be paid they came to me. I expect much more attentive and proactive service from a five-star hotel. Pool facilities: The shower near the pool was broken, and the lockers in the changing rooms were not functioning properly. Staff training and assistance: On two separate occasions, I asked different staff members in the changing room area how the lockers worked. Both explained that they were new and did not know how to operate them. Neither made any effort to find someone who could assist me. Instead, they simply told me to ask someone else. I understand that new employees need time to learn, but I expect a hotel of this category to provide proper training and ensure that staff take responsibility for assisting guests. Overall, while I appreciated the excellent location and spacious room, the lack of attentive service, poor maintenance of certain facilities and insufficient staff training made my stay disappointing. For a five-star hotel such as Sofitel,
