We reserved a private room with 4 bunks. The reception lady gave us an 8-bunk room so we could all have a bottom bunk. Awesome! Big balcony overlooking the street. Shared bathroom right outside our room. 5-minute walk to the burger restaurant where we ate dinner (across the roundabout from the cathedral).
We felt the cost of laundry was too high & you aren't allowed to wash clothes in the bathroom, so we decided to hike in our dirty clothes the next day. It was fine--we had out clothes cleaned at our next hostel.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and there is a lovely reception area with a bar and comfy chairs. The sheets on the beds were clean and I had a good night's sleep.
The reception area, with extra toilets and sinks was closed in the morning (between 6-9am) when it was really needed. There was only one toilet for our dormitory with eight people! The showers in the upper dormitory need repairing - they spray out everywhere, straight into your face and it's very hard to wash your body.
