The hostess does not speak english at all.
Was surprised that other guests in the apartment behind a thin door. The hostess does not warn that the apartment is shared with other guests

Great location in the old town of Mantova, beautiful old building. Room is nicely renovated in old style. Breakfast is served at the Hemmingway, just 50 metres away. Reduction of 15% on the parking fees in the nearby Mazzini parking.
We were here before, and we had the impression that the novelty of receiving guests had worn off in the meantime: the welcome was nowhere as warm as the previous time.
Breakfast at Hemmingway means having to listen to Italian TV...

The building is quiet and private, but only a very short walk from the centre of Mantua. The owner was very helpful and gave good information about local restuarants etc,

Amazing accommodation. Everything was perfect: beautiful ancient building with original furniture, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Affresco was one of the highlights of our trip to Mantova.

Our host was most welcoming.
There was a a lot of cake on offer at breakfast.
We could use the kitchen to make a tea or coffee at any time.
It was a very Italian experience in a historic house which has recently been refurbished to reveal centuries old frescoes but at the same time had built-in USB charging points in the bedroom, the first time i have seen this in a B&B or hotel of any star rating.
We communicated with our (attentive) host with a mixture of our duff Italian, schoolboy French and Google translate.
Small thing, but the towels were outstanding.
I wouldn't change a thing.

Breakfast was fine, especially for my wife..great tortas. For me it was OK...I wish that there had been a request for dietary restrictions (I don't eat gluten). Unfortunately, even after the first breakfast, there wasn't too much for me to eat. Other places we stayed in Italy accommodated my diet really well.
Wish there had been gluten free cereal, or eggs maybe or other things.

Brilliant appartment: we had a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and yes, also a sleeping room. All this in a beautiful building in the old town of Mantova, on walking distance of everything you'd like to see.
The landlady spoke French and was very informative on Mantova.
The breakfast was enormous: pastries abound, as that seems to be the specialty of Mantova. A great place to come back to!
We should have stayed longer....
