Green House Hostel

Room was nicely decorated and furnished in a modern style, with comfortable beds. Fridge and kettle in room meant we could self-cater for breakfast. There was a communal kitchen for more ambitious meals. Spacious communal areas were good for meeting fellow travellers and swapping stories. Self-service laundry was available for 15 somoni per load. Good location with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Possible to walk into the centre for sight-seeing. Staff were very helpful and could advise on travel plans, book taxis etc.

Water pressure in the shower in the second floor rooms was very weak. Although laundry was available, there was always a queue for the machines so we didn't actually manage to get our laundry done during a 2-night stay.

The guest house is located in the centre, next to the airport. It has a big courtyard where people can hang out.

Due to its size, it feels quite anonymous here.

Staff were amazingly kind & helpful. Very professional. 24/7 reception very helpful when arriving 3 am

People do stay up till 3 am but did not seem noisy and they wisely put us in top floor out of earshot

It was inexpensive and a good location. Reception staff provided advice on transport and eating options locally. There was adequate toilet paper which for some reason has not been the case in other establishements we've stayed in Central Asia over the past 3 weeks.

Room was basic, no place for 2 people to sit. Asked for sheet to be replaced due to stains. Was advertised with fridge which they did bring. Plumbing did not drain. Electrical switches were broken or faulty. We were not shown the facilities on arrival eg kitchen and laundry.
