The food was very good and always a great breakfast served in a very scenic setting. Attentive and friendly staff . Game drives very good with our guide Layla. We managed to get very close to the animals.

Nothing not to like

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable experience at Nkomazi Private Game Reserve Our stay was absolutely incredible and exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into a truly special part of South Africa. The setting is simply breathtaking. The reserve is vast, beautiful and wonderfully wild, and our accommodation was fantastic. We stayed in a gorgeous river tent which was incredibly comfortable while still giving us that wonderful feeling of being completely immersed in the bush. With only a relatively small number of guests, the whole experience felt exclusive, peaceful and personal. But, of course, the wildlife was the real highlight. The game drives were exceptional, with incredibly knowledgeable guides who were clearly passionate about the reserve and its animals. We enjoyed some truly magical sightings, but seeing a cheetah mother with her five cubs was the absolute highlight of our stay. We were fortunate enough to see them on two separate occasions, and watching the cubs together was something we will never forget. What we particularly loved about Nkomazi was the style of safari. The morning and evening drives were long enough to feel like proper adventures without becoming exhausting, and there was always a sense that something incredible could be around the next corner. The combination of the scenery, wildlife and knowledgeable guiding made every drive exciting. The staff were wonderful throughout our stay — friendly, welcoming and genuinely keen to make our experience special. There was also a lovely sense of camaraderie among the guests without the reserve ever feeling busy or crowded. Having experienced safaris elsewhere in Africa, Nkomazi really stands out for us. It offers that perfect combination of luxury, exclusivity and genuine wilderness, while still delivering the incredible wildlife encounters you hope for when booking a South African safari.

Absolutely nothing

Food- as people with dietary requirements we were blown away! This has been one of the best places to cater for us- hats off to the chef! We were treated to a excellent meals as well as great variety Service- all staff went all out to make us feel welcome, tended to needs as best as possible. Small details like always meeting you from the game drive with a moist towelette and the game rangers going out of their way to try find the animals you want to see Spa- good value for money and professional service All inclusive- worth it, excellent meals, lots of beverages included

Room- the only reason for scoring down the room was that our aircon was not working which we made the resort aware of but they did provide us with extra fan heaters to compensate

Nice and remote location, great variety of animals. Jonny the guide was very passionate about finding the animals and very helpful and knowledgeable.

Superficially clean but it was not thoroughly cleaned. Found a toilet bin full of tissue papers with blood left by the previous guests. The pool was not clean as had some small debris so didn’t use it. The hot ran out after the first shower. There is an additional R440 per person per night which they call a conservation fee which you only get to know about once you make a non-refundable booking. This is unfair and should be clearly stated before you book so that people make up their minds. The biggest let down was the food which was quite basic for such premium prices that people pay.
