Ubud Raya Boutique Hotel

The staff were very friendly, helpful and always available when we needed something. We had two rooms, one for four people and one for three, and both were cleaned every day and kept clean throughout our six-night stay. The resort itself is pleasant and worked well as a base for exploring the area by scooter. We spent most of our days outside and returned mainly to relax and sleep. Breakfast was included and was perfectly fine, which was convenient as we did not have to look for breakfast elsewhere every morning.

We had stayed in a newer villa before coming here, so the difference in standard was quite noticeable. The rooms and overall construction are fairly simple, and many parts of the property feel more worn than they appear in the Booking.com photos. Our ground-floor room had a slight musty or mouldy smell that remained even after airing the room. Although everything was cleaned daily, some areas of the resort would benefit from maintenance and renovation. Around the pool, for example, some wooden decking was loose and worn, several tiles were cracked, and some of the pool lights had visible cables and did not appear to be properly fixed to the wall. We were also surprised by the very strict property rules we were asked to sign, especially regarding bringing in outside food and drinks and the additional charges mentioned. In practice, however, these rules did not seem to be enforced very strictly, so they felt more restrictive on paper than during the actual stay.
