The staff was super helpful and so sweet! They make the stay a wonderful experience.
The toilet had a foul smell and there is only one bathroom for the dorms.

The staff here were so friendly, especially Saturday! I was in the mixed dorm and the rooms were so spacious and the beds were comfiest I think I’ve ever had in a hostel.

The staff (Nania) welcomed us and helped us arranged everything as we needed. We had a small complain regarding a sunrise tour which was arranged with a third party (Ostic was not responsible for that) and Nania took the responsibility and fixed it. We even got paid back from the tour company upon our small complain. Super staff. The location is perfect to have a walk in the evening to music cafes and the best restaurants around. The rooms were clean and tidy. Airco worked perfectly. We had a great time there.

The hostel consistentlt provide good service and clean facility, similar as we visited last time.
Located strategically in the centre of Yogyakarta, close to many destinations within Yogyakarta area.
The family room we stayed in also spacious for our family with big bathroom as well.
The 2 comments we can hope for improvements are:
1. The bathroom in the room has unpleasant smell which you need to overcome somehow. Same unpleasant smell like when we stayed previously.
2. Pool table located in the centre of the main entrance is blocking access to the hostel, especially when somebody playing it. You need to shifted a bit to give way for people to comfortably enter the hostel.

Cleanliness, friendly staff, shared kitchen that quite clean and complete. We can drop our bags before or after check in/out in receptionist.

After arriving, the staff gave a very in depth cultural briefing. They were extremely nice and fun to talk with. They helped me see all the sights within my short stay.
Not that many solo travelers. May also be due to the time of year.

- The room is (although tiny) good, comfortable bed, and you get towel and blanket.
- Very friendly and helpful staffs
- Good common area and wifi
- Good location, near restaurants and cafes
- The locker in the dorm room is broken, something that should be easily fixable.
- I find 1 shared toilet and 1 shared bathroom are not enough especially during the rush

Very nice hostel with friendly helpful staff. The introduction to the city and local area was very informative and helped ensure we saw many attractions while we were there. The free drinking water is a nice touch, and having a cafe and swimming pool on site is a bonus.

Vert nice staff and good tips for things to see and do around the area
Due to my time of staying (low season) there was not really a vibe in the house and not many other travellers to meet. But that's just bad timing 😕

Ostic house is very convenient in many ways.
First, their lobby area functions also as a coffee shop so that there are tables and seats everywhere. In my case, this is very helpful as I arrived in Jogja early in the morning. I went straightaway to the hostel, and had a comfortable place to sit and work on my laptop prior to the check in time. In addition to that (second,), there are toilet and bathroom available to use at the lobby. Third, I found the place is very clean, which is very important. And last but not least, all the staffs are very nice and welcoming that made me feel at home.

Staff were nice and friendly. The location near to everywhere, Malioboro or Alun-alun kidul. Places to eat also nearby and also supermarket. Room was comfortable, bathroom clean, hot water worked outstandingly. No complain at all. You could play pool table and swimming. Kitchen is free to use but clean afterwards. Excellent place

Super friendly staff who are genuinely friendly and eager to know you better, great facilities with a kitchen and free water dispenser, and the small pool is an added bonus
The location is to the south of the Alkid so it may be a little far from Taman Sari if you walk - but Grab/Gojek are readily available

The staff was really friendly and gave us plenty of recommendations what to do in Yogyakarta. The iced Matcha was also really good
We could not close the door to the our room, that was confusing at first. Also we could not lock the lockers. Also, the room was really tiny for four people.

Very friendly staff. Small kitchen available. The room was really small, but okay for the price.
No sink in the private bathroom, just a tap under the shower. In the shared bathroom, everything was available.

the staff was super friendly, they are very responsive, even before you actually arrive. The place was roomy with a high ceiling. The room and the bathroom were clean, so nice! In the room with 3 people, they have a full body mirror which was very helpful to check our look! and the TV was super big, around 42".
And, they have a shared bathroom, and kitchen & refrigerator too which was very helpful if you want to prepare your own food.
Our window is covered by a screen, so maybe it would be nice if we can actually open our window for air change.

The location is strategic. Near taman sari and restaurant. The hospitality is great. The room is clean, air conditioner is well functioned. It also have book shelf. The kitchen be equipped with plate, cup, bowl, spoon, fork and knife, water dispenser. Lots of quotes. Definitely return to this place
Please use friendly environment product such as glass bottle instead of plastic bottle, bamboo toothbrush, etc.

I liked the staff and what I paid for, it was cheap and included a small pool
Large Indonesian family was really noisy and slamming doors and yelling at 5am in the morning. I didn't like this and staff didn't tell them off for this maybe because I'm foreign and they are Indonesian
