Very nice house and garden , the breakfast was very good

This is a beautiful house with an immense history, and its heritage still leaves in the family of the current hosts. The rooms are incredible, and there is detail and comfort in everything. The breakfast is fabulous, and is served in one of the beautiful rooms of the house. We loved the garden, the pool , the view, sitting in the balcony, visiting the surrounding towns and restaurants. The hosts made our stay very welcome and comfortable, I was privileged to be shown so much of the house's history and having memorable conversations that made our time so special. This was our second stay at Casa da Portela de Sampriz and we enjoyed it like the first time here! Thanks to the history of the place, its outstanding renovation, the nice setting in the landscape, the excellent interior and exterior - and the hospitality of Leonor and Alberto, this was again one of the most remarkable stays of our trip through the North of Portugal. The rooms are delicately furnished with historic furniture and equipped at a very high standard. We felt immediately at home and enchanted, not at last in the common room among the old granite walls of the former winery's basement. In the morning, Leonor makes sure that you cannot leave without having tasted the many little treats of a Portuguese breakfast including home baked cake while enjoying the historic charm of the large breakfast room. The place is perfectly located next to the Peneda-Geres National Park and Alberto will not fail to recommend routes, sights, and restaurants. Upon return, enjoy a bottle of refreshing local Vinho Verde at the pool as well as a gorgeous sunset over the hilly country of the Lima river. As after the first time, we have a personal pledge to return ... and we are hopeful to do so :)
