The owner is available for helping for anything you may need. room is clean and comfortable, The location is quite and the view amazing. Would suggest to do the tour inside the park the one that get inside with car or jeep the one that got only 30 spot x day. no adverting about it in any station.

We had a great time here. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the best thing about it was the owner and his family who went out of their way to make sure we had the best stay in Kumily. Would 100% recommend.

Owner was really good. Thank you Sukur for your hospitality. We all love his masala tea. All the traveller do try once tea at the homestay prepared by Sukur. Best tea in Kerala. Rooms were clean and all the material provided were clean and tidy. Bed was super comfortable. Anytime u call him he responds. Nice place to stay expect few things need to avoid if u can.

Handwash was not provided. Toilet soap Medimix was not good. Few things in bathroom need repair. Lot of time takes for hot water to come in tap.

The homestay owner is very helpful. He took my friend to a trekking spot in his car. He has good knowledge about things to do in Thekkady. The homemade food is good and spicy. We extended our stay at this place.

The host, Shukkoor, and his family, were warm, welcoming and helpful in every way. Shukkoor was very helpful and attentive from the beginning. He tried to understand our interests and then recommended a great itinerary. One of the days, when he was relatively free, he even drove us around to different spots that one would usually miss as a tourist; only locals would know. He's very well-connected and can help you plan your holiday in a way that you will enjoy. His wife is an excellent cook and i would recommend that you enjoy a few meals at his house - it is great local-style cuisine and very tasty. I wish to go back again and spend some time at his homestay. If you are expecting a luxury hotel and restaurant-style dining, this place is not for you. However, if you are looking for a comfortable and clean place with warm and friendly people and good food - a home away from home - you should pick Panthalam's

The family tries very hard to give you the best time in kumily so you can enjoy every moment. The food is super delicious and the owner knows everything about Thekkady and can therefore show you the best places to see, he will even drive you there by himself. Its very important to them that the guests are happy! Also very nice views from your room or from the Top of the House.

Great homestay

We had an amazing stay at Panthalam's largely thanks to the owner Shukoor who runs the place with his family. He was a great host who went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable looking into every detail like ensuring we reached his place without trouble, getting a kitchen in place so we could prepare meals, dropping us to the sanctuary so we reach on time, giving us great tea, coffee and breakfast, taking us around sightseeing at a nominal cost, allowing us to store some items in his personal refrigerator. He even helped us buy local river fish and cleaned it for us. The rooms were clean and spacious, there's hot water and it is just a 10 min walk from the Periyar Tiger Reserve.

Very friendly owner. He arranged home made breakfast. Rooms were clean and neat. Helped for sightseeing and ticket booking for boating.

The host and his family were lovely and did everything possible to make sure we had a good stay. The food for breakfast and dinner was fantastic. The host arranged tickets for us for Periyar National Park and for the Martial Art display. He also took to see local places of interest. The views from the balcony were good and we saw monkeys/wild boar. It was easy to walk to local restaurants from the property.

Great location (top of the hill) with a wonderful view (corner room on the 1st floor has the greatest view and a cozy corner balcony + bathroom with a view too!!), Abdul and his lovely family are so welcoming, it's impossible not to feel good in this homestay. Bed is comfortable, plenty of windows, nice hot shower, very good breakfast and coffee!!! I can't wait to come back :) Thank you for everything!!!

The road from the city centre to Panthalams (about 10 minutes walking) is very dark and uneven, so bringing a torch at night is essential.
