Doobaki Hostel

We have a free walking tour on the first night and it was so good! This was also great for meeting people. The hostel has a lot of social space and a free breakfast which was a bonus.

It wasn’t very clean and needed some TLC.

Ostello accogliente, dotato di tanti servizi. Staff sempre presente in zona comune o in reception quindi in caso di necessità, bastava chiedere! Posizione comoda per soggiornare a Gyeongju. Non ho ben capito perché la nostra stanza non avesse le chiavi (stanza mista da 4) ma non ci sono stati problemi, forse bastava dotare tutte le stanze del pad magnetico che in korea è ovunque!

Suggerisco un rinnovo della zona vasca; dal fondo, alla tenda e anche il bastone perchè erano un po'al limite!

There are many bus lines that run right outside the hostel so that is convenient. It has been decorated to look fun.

Honestly, I feel like the reviews and rating this place has are quite disingenuous. Perhaps people who rated it highly have never stayed in quality hostels before, or in Korean accomodation in general. The provided "towel" was just a small hand towel; they really shouldn't list it as a feature. There is no lift (fine) and no hand rails on the large concrete steps. The beds were very bouncy. There is no soundproofing whatsoever, and the curtains are the same material as bedsheets, and do nothing to block out any light. The decor is very worn and dated, and the toilet and vanity are extremely low, even by Korean standards. Breakfast was for sugar enthusiasts only - sweet bread and cereals, and giant tubs of iridescent jams. I was glad to leave there.
