The views of the gardens from the room were spectacular. The food was delicious. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We loved the onsen.

Location and Japanese garden
Food. Fancy art work looking meal didn't taste as good as I was expecting. It would have been better if each dish had more fresh vegetables.

Me encantaron el onsen, los jardines y la habitacion. Habia yukatas disponibles para utilizar en todo el recinto.
Que no se podia comer en el restaurante si no reservabas comida al momento de hacer la reserva de la habitación

By far the best accommodations I've ever had, staff was so friendly and helpful, english was very good, the food was stunning, the room was heavenly and the grounds are breathtaking, on top of all that the hotsprings were beyond my hopes and dreams, I didn't want to leave. The highlight of my 2 week Japan trip!
I loved everything

The got spring facilities were also great as well!

The garden was very nice and pretty and the private bath was nice too.
I didn’t like the property didn’t sell the Yukata and also found one of staff seems a bit rude did not seem to want to answer questions maybe she is new. Also there is no coin laundry 🧺

- Walking distance from Hakone-Yumoto station
- Open bath
- Garden as park of the ryokan
- Nothing comes to mind
- Pool was closed for 1 day when we checked out

The breakfast was great. I enjoyed the architecture and how it seemed to fit itself into the surrounding nature. The views were gorgeous.
I also enjoyed the minimalistic simplicity of the room. Cozy bed and bedding, nice view of the trees. For me it was exceptional morning light.
I believe the listing made it seem like there were more ways to relax and enjoy ones alone time. The reality is that the onsen was extremely limited, the terrace area lacking lounge chairs or basic necessities for 90 degree heat. The listing also says “every room has…” and “some rooms have….” - I found that my room did not have the things promised or advertised whatsoever.
The location is very remote, so breakfast included is a must.

Enormous garden. Very beautiful and peaceful. Nice opened-air onsen. Near yumoto station.
Staff speaks English with accents that is difficult to understand. I have to ask her to repeat several times.

The common parts of the hotel are very nice and modern. The garden is very beautiful and peaceful. The onsen is also quite nice and perfect to relax and have some quiet time. The hotel is well located next to a train station and close to a few restaurants.
The room and bathroom were quite old. They would need some renovation to be nicer. We came there mainly for the onsen and have some rest, so we did not spend too much time in the room, but a more modern would have made the stay perfect.

Great location and beautiful facilities. Onsen is outdoors and lovely. Traditional Japanese garden is beautiful. You can feed the koi.
Rooms are dated, but big and clean
But dated. Meals are pricey and more for show than gourmet.

garden and hot springs
I could leave my luggage for a few hours, and personnel helped me with bringing it down
cockroaches in the room (!!!!!!)
staff telling me that it's ok for cockroaches being in a 4-star hotel (because they are in the whole of Japan - I stayed in 5 places, I had this issue only in this hotel)
smelly rooms, manager should stay there and rethink how to improve quality of rooms
after reporting person with smartphone in hot springs, I was told smartphones are ok, later on I checked rules I've got and it was clearly written that no smartphones are allowed, so I was lied by personnel of the hotel (or they don't know rules, not sure what is worst)
I had to stay for a while on the corridor with my luggage waiting for the new room (I was already in yukata, so I felt uncomfortable), then having ridiculous discussion with personnel who Was trying to convince me it's ok to have cockroaches in the room of 4-star hotel, tired and hungry, since it happened in one room, I couldn't fall asleep for a while (since it was bedding on the floor), next day manager started conversation from indicating that people open windows and insects come in (it was not my case, as I discovered them after being in the room for max 15min and never opening windows!), which was ridiculous, then they apologised and bowed, I had a lot of discomfort, stress and sleepless night in place where I should relax! hotel did nothing to take responsibility for my awful experience

Nice garden. The meals were nice although the portions were quite substantial!
Our room in the main wing was a big disappointment. It looks old and faded. The lights were really dim. The bathroom felt like it’s from a cheap old budget hotel. The water in my bathtub took forever to drain. I had to shower with a trickle of water as at some point, the bathtub was nearly half filled with water. The outdoor onsen was nice but the indoor one was not as nice. Again it feels like some improvements/upgrade is needed. The service was also not as good as other ryokans.

It's actually a modern hotel made to look like a ryokan

this hotel was awesome! gorgeous garden for the guest, room are extremely clean and well decorated with classic Japanese styles. I could smell the fresh smell of tatami matting, it feels so good. the spa at night was almost empty, the public spa was the cleanest spa I ever seen, very good experience!
I can’t thank much but the message service lady was a bit cold when we try to make reservations

- Gardens are incredible
- The onsens are really enjoyable, for both male and female sides
- Close enough to the train station, and therefore activities
- They provide a yukata with all the accessories you need for you to enjoy a traditional Japanese lifestyle
- The traditional bedroom was very much traditional, with everything that it means. Could be good of bad depending on each person
- The bedroom was huge, so a lot of space to enjoy
- Most people on the staff don't speak basic English. You can barely communicate unless you can find that one person that can understand you
- This led to a lot of bad experiences. We pre-ordered traditional Japanese breakfast, but the staff was unable to explain to us how we were supposed to experience/enjoy it, which just made it weird and frustrating
- Similarly, we wanted to enjoy the onsen on the traditional way, but we could find someone to explain to us how you're supposed to do it, how to be respectful of others, etc. Very frustrating.
- The bathroom in our room was outdated, tiny and dirty with mouldy grout and low lights. For a 350 aud a night hotel room, this is not acceptable
- The room itself also felt run-down. You could see a lot of marks from over the years, old appliances, etc. This really needs a do-over.
- The town around the hotel basically closes at 5pm. Past that time, all shops are closed and you barely have any restaurants left open. We were really flabbergasted at the total lack of life in the evening.

The property is a bit worn. Could use updating.

Location is perfect, 50 m from bus stop, convenient for transfer from and to main station, bus routes over Hakone city. Staff is friendly and ready to help. Grand bath is fantastic, rooms are nice
Since it is 4 star hotel, restaurants seat is to be appropriate to the guest numbers as minimum or if the restaurant seats are not available, it is recommended to have room services for food arrangements. For example, if you arrived late you cannot arrange dishes at the city. As an option, it could be vending machines at the territory.

beautiful garden and onsen
Was told at check in I in front of my brother that the fee I was paying was for the traditional dinner and breakfast, in the morning I asked about breakfast and they gas lit me that it wasn’t included. My brother and I were both nonplussed and disappointed.
