LaPerla is a great setting with great ocean views.This particular rental was a generous size for 8 people.Our biggest issue is that through the VRBO listing it stated that it has 3 king beds and it only had 3, the 3rd bedroom had a queen. We had 3 couples and 2 children.Not having a 3rd king bed was a huge issue for us.Hopefully that is corrected.The “4th bedroom” is the lower level with a couch, 2 singles and a double.Not exactly a bedroom in my opinion. It is open to the stairway to the kitchen.Overall the place was noisy because it backs up to the street and the most windows were just screens with wooden louvers.Road noise was bothersome for some of us and not others.The unit was pretty well equipped with limited cooking pans and storage.The raised deck made for a nice place to sit and enjoy the view, which was beautiful.We all enjoyed the pool. Amethyst was a little more worn than the pictures show.But still comfortable enough for a rental. The decor was quirky and interesting.The staff at LaPerla were a highlight to our stay.Roberto and his crew took us snorkeling, fishing and cooked a meal for us from our catch. Pretty amazing! They even acted as our taxi back to the airport for departure.You really need a golf cart in Ambergris Caye, it is about 40 minutes give or take to LaPerla from the airport.Your golf cart company will pick you up at airport.Road signs are really not a thing most places.GPS was a must for us. Overall a good stay.

The host, Star, was extremely welcoming and accommodating. The villa was comfortable and reasonably clean.

We had a great stay. We were a group of 9 adults and the accommodation had plenty of room and was nice and private. The pool was fairly large and we used it daily. We also used the kayaks and paddled to the reef and snorkeled (look for the blue buoy to the right of the dock). We saw nurse sharks and stingrays in 3-4 feet of water. The whole family had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was pretty far from town. There was a possibility of a hurricane so they day before we were asked to reschedule,which wasn't possible because flight days were clear skies. Then when we were picked up from airport by driver who charged us more then resort quoted us, manager called and asked us to try to find a different place in mainland but we couldn't have a refund. Almost 4k! When we arrived after a day and a half travel weather was fine! But we were told to come back in 45min!!! Villa was not clean m, when they finally let us inthey were still trying to rush and clean. The cleaning was Soso bathroom trashes not dumped found someone's old crumbs trash band-aides around villa. There was no key to our villa because it was boarded up for "hurricane" had to wait another 45m I n for them to change the down stairs lock and find a key.. only to come back and remove front board on door then gave us that key. Bottom room where kids stayed was INVESTED with mosquitoes discovered that was due to the screens on door were wither completely Gome or broken rendering no bug prevention... the kids couldn't sleep the first night when I saw all the bites I took a sheet from the balled up pile of linen they left for us on the couch and put over doors which helped. 2 of the room mine included AC wasn't working. They would come right away to help but one of the ACs was on and off whole week making it hot and muggy the length of my trip. Refrigerator in kitchen. Leaked water inside on our food. Freezer in basement never froze some Popsicles we bought.even after 5 days in Freezer. When it was time to check out as we were waiting for our ride 845am they showed up to sit our luggage outside downstairs and the cleaning crew was basically looking at us are h guys going to stay while we clean. We weren't going to wait in the heat so they asked if they could come in to start cleaning. No biggie but for us where was the sense of urgency when we had to wait 45+minutes for them to clean.
