The hosts were wonderful, very helpful, and very knowledgeable about the local area (this family has been here on this tea plantation for at least 4 generations). The breakfast on offer was much appreciated given there's not much in the immediate area and they were able to accommodate our vegetarian diets. I strongly suggest taking up the tea picking experience on offer (600 TWD pp at time of writing) as you get to pick, toast, dry, design (your package), and pack your tea. We were also very grateful for the family offering us a vegetarian dinner on our first night of arrival for 100 TWD. There are plenty of friendly cats and a lovely, sweet, three-legged dog named "Ok" who will melt your heart. The host family were also very obliging with offering us freshly brewed tea at almost any chance. Lastly, they were helpful enough to give us a ride to a nearby town on checkout so we could make our train back to Chiayi. Also, the mountain views are staggeringly gorgeous; the mist descending on the mountains is enchantingly surreal.
The bed was very firm. This may be more of a preference though, hence why this didn't really affect my review

Everything about our stay was amazing. The family who runs the homestay are the nicest people I’ve ever met. They are so helpful, so kind and really want to share with you the culture of Taiwan. We had amazing food, saw so many beautiful views. They have lovely cats and three legged dog who will hike with you as well! The other guests were so lovely and from all over the world, I really enjoyed our 3 days here. It was so memorable!

Short walk from bus stop, friendly staff who went the extra mile to drive and drop off our luggage near the sites we wanted to visit, great tips on travelling around, very very cute and friendly pets--OK ran to us without hesitation and nuzzled us on arrival :')
A bit expensive compared to our other hotel/minsu experiences, but comparable to others within the area
