I really felt at home as soon as I met the owners, who welcomed me and gifted me a 'welcome dinner.' The hotel reception is in the Chinese restaurant as you come in, and it is a beautiful setting with amazing food! I came to this location because it is close to St. Jakob event center in Basel, Switzerland. The bus stop is a 5-minute walk, and the train station is a 10-minute walk. There are several service businesses: salons, restaurants, and grocery stores. Even though my workshop absorbed my entire day, the owners were so kind to offer me a late-night snack from the restaurant with sparkling water for my room. I slept soundly in the most comfortable bed ever! The affordability, cleanliness, location, and the wonderful owners & staff made my stay a restful experience.

The bed was hard as a board, the room door defective, the furnishings minimal. Check-in and check-out at the Chinese restaurant only possible during opening hours, 11 am - 10 pm.

That it's actually a Chinese restaurant called Hotel Adler. That alone merits a stay.

Prices for dinner seem a bit arbitrary.

Pre-information about the connection between Chinese restaurant and hotel. Wenn I arrived they hardly speak German, later on it was oké. Price-quality proportion was not oké. Noisy street at the side of the single rooms.
