Breakfast was very good. Location good, near to the beach, shops, restaurants. Plenty of parking space. Vera and Martin were very friendly , warm and welcoming. A place of character. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay there again

There was nothing we didn`t like. One suggestion is to have a toaster in the breakfast room instead of asking for toast. This is not a complaint though!

The location is great, close to the beach, shops and the village, plenty and fresh cooked breakfast . The hosts Vera and Steve were great, they care about your stay and very helpful if you need anything, they were very kind. Very reasonable price, the bed was very comfortable, the room was not big but cosy and clean , very relaxed atmosphere, nice garden and exceptional and interesting Gothic Revival Victorian Architecture style of the building. A nice and good place in Shanklin, or on the Island to stay and explore . Shanklin is a beautiful coastal town, with many interesting places to visit, apart for its great beach and seafront attractions and pubs, the Old Village with their pretty thatched cottages, Pencil Cottage, Pink Cottage with its lovely Fairy Garden, Shanklin Chine and its hotel were Victorian couples used to spend their honeymoon, Fisherman Cottage , Rylstone Gardens, Big Mead pond , nice walk to Bonchurch, Devil Chimney, Wishing Seat and the waterfall on the beach on the way to Luccombe just to mention some.

It was easy to find and there was lots of space to park. Access was easy and you could come and go as you please. Hosts were warm and friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and it was a quiet location. Vegetarian breakfast was great!

Although it’s totally personal taste, the sausages in the Full English breakfast weren’t to my liking - Richmond style versus meaty butchers style. But other than that it was a fabulous stay! Bathroom en-suite was tiny but it was fully functional to use so not an actual issue. Just something to be aware of.

The breakfast was freshly cooked and there was plenty of choice. Vera and her team were very friendly and informative. The location was fine not far from the beach or bus station.

A very welcoming place to stay. The owners were very kind, helpful and went out of their way to make my stay extra special. I also liked how well-equipped the rooms were and how quiet it was at night. The humorous decor details fit the theme of medieval knights.

Vera was an exceptional host who made me feel very welcome and even gave me a room upgrade for my three nights stay. She provided a superb breakfast and great conversation. The room was comfortable and clean and although the ensuite was small, it met my needs. The location was only a few minutes walk to restaurants and shops and the on site free parking was appreciated.

Breakfast was always well-cooked and well-presented with good choice of cereals, fruit juice etc, and the dining room was attractive. Location of Knights Rest convenient for all Shanklin amenities, and the property clean and comfortable.

There is nothing really that I didn't like! The staff were friendly and very accommodating e.g. secure off-road parking for my motorcycle, and while the bedroom was compact it was clean and had all amenities - overall there is nothing I didn't like!

the breakfast was excellent and there was a variety. Vera and Martin made the stay welcoming and pleasant and were happy to help. the situation was excellent and having the bus almost outside was very handy as well.

We loved everything, Vera and Martin are great hosts. Breakfast was big and tasty, room was quiet and comfortable. Big library, huge garden, conservatory and a fireplace next to the shiny armour of an old kinght add to the atmosphere. House is centrally located, easy to reach from train station in Shanklin, and it has huge car park if you need to bring your car.

I was really happy with how supportive and helpful the hosts were during my stay. It was a bit unfortunate I hurt my knee and that it messed my plans a bit. They were very mindful and empathic. Loved the service during breakfast.

NOTHING EVERYTHING WAS JUST RIGHT COULD COME AND GO AS YOU PLEASE GOOD PARKING SPACES IF YOU HAD A CAR EASY TO FIND ON GOOGLE MAPS. THE OWNER TAKES TIME TO MAKE HER GUEST FEEL WELCOME AND COMFORTABLE. WILL BE STAYING THERE AGAIN NEXT MONTH FOR 6 NIGHTS NEXT TIME.
