An oasis in the midst of the chaos of central Delhi

We loved the staff and the kite flying activity. The rooms and space was incredible. We loved the gift shop which was beautifully curated and good value.

This was a once in a lifetime hotel experience- we were very gratefully upgraded to a traditional suite in this gorgeous heritage haveli in the heart of bustling old Delhi. Yes, there is a little walk down a busy, narrow alleyway which could be quite confronting for some but what an experience!rest assured that you are absolutely safe - our driver phoned through to the hotel so that the hotel staff were there to greet us. They carried our 3 big suitcases expertly on a tiny trolley and another member of staff escorted us so we felt very safe and were able to soak up the authentic experience. The welcome was so special, all of the staff were attentive and treated us like royalty. I’m glad the sign was there about no individual tipping so we gave a bigger tip at the end. The building itself rich with history and it was easy spending time marvelling at the architecture. It is so beautiful it’s hard to describe. The food was excellent, beautifully prepared dishes and very delicious. The kite flying at sunset was fun although got a little crowded and I felt ignored for a long time so gave up and returned a bit later on. It was truly magic watching the sunset across the rooftops of Old Dehli. The traditional dancers in the evening was a real treat and so funny how we all left our dining tables to go and watch the 10 minute show on the first floor. We only wish we had longer here although it is an extremely pricey hotel so two nights would have been a stretch! It was 100% worth it though. We genuinely felt like we were in a film.

I agree with another comment about being more generous with shower gel, shampoo etc. It is more sustainable (and I would have thought economical) these days to have large bottles of these available.

The room we were moved to on 2nd night marginally better. The property whilst impressive in parts has poorly decorated rooms also.

Location. It is in the slums. Getting taxis from there is impossible. Breakfast quite poor and limited choices.
