Good location - 3 min walk to the Plaza shopping mall, and a good brunch cafe (64 by Loft Cafe). 10-15 min walk to the old town. 5 mins to the marina. Easy check in - you’re given a code to access Keys in a lock box. The property also has a private roof top terrace, and the bedroom has a patio door to open. Overall very clean!

The property could benefit from a few basic tweaks. 1) ensure there are a few basic toiletries. There were no shower gels / soap, and only 2 toilet paper rolls. For £400 for 4 nights, I expected at least a few simple bathroom essentials. 2) ensure there’s a brolly for the roof top terrace - Funchal isn’t exactly a stranger to rain. 3) make the property lay out clearer. There are two bedrooms but one is a walk through bedroom that leads to the main bedroom. The walk through room has a single size bed that’s suited for 1 person. The stairs are extremely narrow and steep, as is well documented in other reviews, so if you have young kids - avoid.
