Staying at Forest Cynicism Homestay felt like being welcomed into a family home rather than checking into accommodation. The food was outstanding: homemade, generous, and full of flavour. The setting is perfectly quiet, surrounded by mist and tea hills, with an atmosphere of complete calm. Perfectly located for the Horton Plains trek, our host even prepared packed breakfasts for us to take on the early morning hike, an incredibly thoughtful touch we didn't expect.

Wonderful 2 night stay at Mahinda and Muthus place who took care of us and made us feel very looked after. The room was lovely and the view fantastic and the garden surrounds gorgeous. Muthu cooked amazing dinners (some of the best we have had), takeaway breakfast for our early morning visit to Horton Plains which was so appreciated and the best egg hoppers and sambal on the morning we departed. I would totally recommend you stay here if visiting Ohiya or Horton Plains … just a 20min tuktuk ride away
