The property was lovely. Great location and the small pool was a lovely bonus.

Staying at Aura Cave was a truly unique and memorable experience. The cave-style accommodation was unlike anywhere we had stayed before, with natural light entering mainly through the front entrance, adding to its distinctive charm. The private pool on top of the cave was a wonderful bonus and the perfect place to cool off while enjoying the surroundings. The location was also excellent, with the heart of Santorini just a five-minute walk away.

The only improvement we would suggest is having a washing machine available for guests, as this would make longer stays even more convenient.

Seemed a little humid and needed to keep the dehumidifiers on water emptied from the holding basin daily. Staff said they would have done it as well. Nice welcoming beverage they provided.

Enrik, an employee of the company that manages the caves locally, who did everything in his power and even more to save our holiday. Thank you! 5 is for the discomfort, for the night without sleep & texting messages, for not telling us in advance. And especially for the fact that, at first, they tried to convince us that we will be provided with a better accommodation, which was totally false. And to accept that basic room (the so-called honeymoon suite) as an equivalent to our booking. Only because we were so relentless in not accepting this deceitful strategy, to make us accept an inferior accommodation, they solved the situation.

I booked The Winery Cave 2 weeks ago to celebrate my birthday. It was paid IN FULL in advance. We were so excited with the idea of staying in a cave with a cozy terrace and jacuzzi. Two days before our arrival I contacted them via WhatsApp, they responded promptly, everything was fine. When we arrived at 01:00 AM, Enrik (an employee) was expecting us at the property. Telling us bluntly that we will not be staying in the Winery Cave, but in another hotel where they booked for us a honeymoon suite. The reason? The room was double-booked and it was already occupied by other guests. Instead of taking responsibility for the error and telling us in advance, they deliberately waited for us to arrive, since in the middle of the night there was nothing else to do but to accept. This shows bad and unprofessional management, not to mention disrespect for the guests. We refused to be cheated like this. [Please HAVE A LOOK at the so-called honeymoon suite - I attached a picture - and decide for yourself. A basic room, without jacuzzi. When I saw it, I cried my eyes out. Not a way to spend my birthday.] After an unpleasant discussion, we went to the other hotel - had to sleep somewhere. The plan was to look for another accommodation of OUR choosing the next morning. We had only 3 days on the island, so the idea of losing half a day to change accommodation was upsetting to say the least. We finally fell asleep at 4 A.M. in the morning. But before that, after exchanging numerous messages, Enrik promised he will try to get us another accommodation that will match the original facilities we paid for. In the end, Enrik mended the situation – he moved us the next morning, at no extra cost, at a hotel located right next to Aura Caves, with matching or even slightly better facilities. This kind of incident can damage and tarnish a reputation. Anyone can relate to the fact that, when on holiday, double bookings can be a major source of frustration and inconvenience.
