Fantastic value right in the heart of St. Andrew’s, perfectly located between the city center and the Old Course. Raj was very responsive, a great host. The bed was very comfortable. The shower is surprisingly roomy.
The room was small, but still comfortable.

Very clean and very homely rooms.
Bathroom facilities good. Old fashioned, yet modern. Loved the tartan headboard and chairs.
A little expensive for a one night’s stay. Had hoped breakfast would be included in the price, but this was extra.

The Montague House was perfect for me traveling as a single golfer. Beds were comfortable and the proximity to the St. Andrews courses and to town is great. Would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.
Not the hotels fault, but those dang seagulls!

Raj was a gent, we had a wonderful few days and breakfast was really good. I would definitely recommend this hotel for all of the reasons scored above and we will be back!

Happy with the room if at price I clicked on, but charged more.
The room was small but ideal and just what I had booked. But I was charged for the room pictured above!!! Have contacted booking.com and Montague House but no one will rectify or help me. I paid for the room above but got a very small one (what I booked) for £50 extra!!!
Someone please contact me and sort this out!

Only thing keeping it from a 10 was the racket of seagulls out my window at 6am!

Everything is good except towel is so hard and rough. Maybe towel needs fabric softener. Also there is one hair on the bed.

The location was great and Raj couldn’t have been more accommodating. The room was spacious and comfortable and perfect for a weekend getaway.
It was quite noisy—neighbors’ door was loud as were their toilet flushing and shower. On the bright side, they provided ear plugs in case we needed them which we did not.

The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit every day. The house is very close to the sea.

Raj was friendly and welcoming. Room 3 our room was pleasant and had view of the sea. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring St Andrews in foot - near the beaches and shops.
It was the most expensive place we booked on our tour of Scotland at £305 for 1 night and felt it was way overpriced. At that price i wld have expected a proper napkin at breakfast, not a paper one, for the sugar, jams etc to be served nicely, not in disposable plastic etc and to be given a side plate for toast etc. It was rather cheaply done.

Location was perfect. Free parking is available on the streets adjacent to the guest house
Sea Gulls are noisy and are a nuisance. This was not the guest house problem, it is a problem in the centre of St Andrews. The town needs to address this issue.

The location was good, the breakfast was also good. The host was very out going and helpful. Shower was very nice.
The only negative comment would be that the window did not have a blind or curtain.

excellent breakfast - including delicious bacon . No baked beans! Thecoffee was freshly ground and it tasted great.

The room was nicer than most luxury hotels I have stayed in.

Excellent location. Room was clean but small.
Breakfast was portion control to excess. No cereal or fruit.
Teaspoonful of haggis and mushrooms with “full” breakfast. No side plates - we had to use our main plates and knives on which to spread toast. Could so easily have been a pleasant experience.
Using bathroom towels was like rubbing skin with sandpaper.
